AIC-M, what did everyone think?

February 8, 2014 by Abra Jacobs

I have already received my AIC and AINS designations. I'm taking my test for the AIS designation this Thursday, and after that I'm considering the AIC-M 37 test. For those who have read the text and completed the new exam, did you find it worthwhile?

I took the class as soon as I saw the new designation available. I deviated from my CPCU courses as I felt this had information I could immediately apply to my job. I work as a claims manager and it only made sense to learn any additional information that would help me do my job better and more efficiently.

I was pleasantly surprised by the content. I study the finer details of all the courses I take and research any topic I don't have a solid understanding on. The course provided me with great fundamental understanding of things I routinely do at work, but have never study the theories that drive its success. I would highly recommend this course to anyone that manages people.

This course is perfect for the claims professional who is ready to take on more responsibility and understand the mechanics of corporate structure. It provided me a greater insight into the decision making process and how that information filters down to the line. I would highly recommend this course to anyone ready to be a supervisor or team leader.

How many questions are on this exam?

Michael- If my memory serves correctly there were a total of 60, two parts- pretty much standard for The Institute Testing process. The only draw back is that unlike other exams, this one you have to wait 7-10 days to find out your results. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is ready to take on a leadership role, be it in the field of insurance or not. it is a great foundation for all segments.
